Metacognition and the Transition to College is a course offered to students in their first semester as an alternative to the regular THRIVE sessions. Specifically geared toward first-generation and/or low-income students, the purpose is to allow for real self-reflection and to inspire growth and development in all areas of the self – intellectual, personal, emotional, social, physical, ethical, spiritual, and vocational. Students will follow the regular THRIVE timeline and curriculum, but with additional meeting times and assignments.

This course aims to get students to think about themselves and their community critically and reflectively, thus knowing more about themselves and their goals in college.
