This course serves as an introduction to the terms, techniques, and exercises we use in the Theater Program at Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges. This is a studio course where active participation is key to learning success. Our main goals are:

● To explore and critically examine our own identity;
● To ignite curiosity and fire up the imagination;
● To learn the principles of action, and apply this to text;
● To encourage exploration beyond one's accustomed comfort limits.

We will take the terminology and techniques learned in Fundamentals of Acting, and apply them to Shakespeare. Along the way we will learn about scansion, verse, first folio technique, and other tools unique to Shakespeare.
