  • Read this before proceeding.

    You may look at these questions at any time, but you should do your best to avoid looking at the answer choices until you are ready to complete the question.

    You may use your notes from class/lab and your notes from studying while answering these questions unless otherwise indicated.

    You may NOT use the lecture/lab powerpoint slides while answering these questions.  In other words, you may NOT look at a question while looking at the slides.  To be safe, you shouldn't have the slides open when you are looking at the questions.  The spirit of this rule is that you should be answering the questions based on your synthesis of the material, not directly from the content of the slides.

    You may NOT discuss these questions with anybody except the instructors.

    Do NOT assume that the Part A questions are all you need to know from each presentation because there is still part B to complete once you have finished part A.

    We are trusting that you will abide by the spirit of the honor code when answering these questions.  If there is any doubt about what is allowed, please talk to us.

    NOTE: Multiple choice questions are graded in the following way.  For every right answer you gain a fraction of the available points.  For every wrong answer you lose a fraction of the available points.  For example, if the list of possible answers includes two correct responses and four incorrect responses, each correct response would give you 50%, but each wrong answer would deduct 25%.  You can never go below zero percent.

    NOTE: Questions on fossils include photographs, but you are encouraged to study the physical specimens in Park 373.
