  • This course comprises the 2026 geology field trip to Iceland taking place over the October fall break.  

    Through pre-trip readings and an intense week of guided fieldwork, we will learn how tectonics, volcanism, glaciation, coastal processes, human settlement, and climate change have shaped this island nation astride the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. 

    We will announce exact travel departure and return dates soon. At that point our dept admin person, Andrew Gallagher, will gather students' names and other info in order to make plane reservations.  

    Please let Don Barber know ASAP if you cannot come on the trip. If so, please drop the class from your Bionic course list.
