  • Session with Laura Surtees, Research and Instruction Librarian and Coordinator of Rhys Carpenter Library

      We will be holding a class session on research methods with Laura Surtees on Tuesday, November 10. 

      Before this session, reflect on the research you have conducted during your time at Bryn Mawr, including the research you have begun for your thesis. What techniques did you employ that felt successful? When did you feel like you ran up against a wall or found a “dead end”? Were you able to work past this impasse? If so, how? 

      As you have attempted to articulate your initial ideas for the thesis and cited images, readings, etc., what challenges did you encounter in amassing the resources you will need? After reflecting on this question, articulate at least one question that would help you progress with your thesis research and prepare to ask that question during our meeting with Laura Surtees.
