      1. Read the syllabus
      2. Acquire a textbook - my suggestion is to find a used 8th or 9th edition. There are also online/pdf versions that can be purchased from the publisher. Note that not all books will have end-of-chapter problems in them so if that is something you might want, make sure that the book you are buying has them
      3. Acquire a scientific calculator. You can use a graphing calculator if you have one. But a graphing calculator is overkill. All you need is something this this: https://www.staples.com/texas-instruments-ti-30xa-10-digit-scientific-calculator-black/product_275842
      4. Sign up for "Achieve", the online platform from Macmillan Learning that hosts our homework system
        1. Go to https://achieve.macmillanlearning.com/courses/mo87qq
        2. Create an account
        3. Return to https://achieve.macmillanlearning.com/courses/mo87qq and sign up for CHEM 103. You do NOT need the clicker. Also, you will be using Achieve for CHEM 104 so if they offer a discount for purchasing both semesters you can do that.
      5. Complete the survey below
      6. Complete the following assignments on Achieve by 9:00 AM on Thursday May 30th (prior to our first class) - they will count as bonus homework points
