Final Project
Final Project
5-7 minutes for solos / 7-10 minutes for groups (2-3 people)
You will present a creative staging that “responds” to a key text from our class. You should identify a question that is prompted by one of our texts. Select a quote that embodies a central idea from one these texts and use this quote to generate your question. This can be a question that a writer directly poses to the reader or it could be a question you are left wondering after reading their text. However, in either case, you should be able to demonstrate how your question specifically emerges from one of our readings.
Your creative staging should offer a response to that question. Rather than thinking of your creative staging as "answer," you should view it as a “creative experiment.” Your job is to identify the appropriate variables needed to address your question: the theatrical materials, elements, and techniques that we would need to arrange and activate. Like most experiments, this is more likely to open up new questions rather than definitively “solve” a theatrical problem.
