Writing Assignment 1: Poets in the Kitchen

In "Poets in the Kitchen", Paule Marshall writes eloquently about the women in her life who inspired her as a writer. She refers to them as "poets".  Who are the "poets" aka, the folks in your life who've influenced/inspired you as a writer? In 1-2 pages, describe how they've been an influence in your life and work.
