The book is about inherited generational trauma and how traumatized parents who do not seek support for themselves "pass" this trauma down to their kids via behaviors and family environments. This impacts kids biologically (epigenetically) AND psychologically, and can lead to complex trauma in children - for example a kid can develop attachment trauma from a parent who dealt with traumatic experiences in their own childhood, which can impact the kid's relationships into adulthood and the way they raise their own children, etc etc etc. Perpetuation of trauma cycles!!
