This reading was exceptionally informative and at times heavy. As I stated in class, I have been working with a child who has been labeled as an offender as a result of a recent sexual trauma. Although this article was targeted for child victims, I plan to adapt some of these techniques to make sense of my work with him. One of the things I took from the reading was that some seductive behavior may stem from deprivation. Although my client and his mother expressed, he had a healthy and nurturing environment growing up - I wonder if there were times of deprivation. I plan to bring to my client's mothers' attention that virtual sessions with him are not ideal. The article points out the importance of structured play therapy - currently the only play therapy we are able to do virtually is drawing. My client does enjoy Legos I wonder if I could get creative with using Legos while he is on virtual sessions with him and how he would respond. It is still not clear how my client fully perceives the trauma that happened. At times he feels he is at fault, and at other times he believes he is the victim who was taken advantage of. This article highlights the importance of not meeting the client with the clinician's own perception of the trauma, which has been difficult for me.
