Why did Egyptians prefer papyrus to clay tablets like the Sumerians and Babylonians used?
I found it interesting how both authors spent a lot of time covering the uncertain cost of books in the ancient world. It highlights how so much of history is from governments and elites, making it difficult to understand if a commoner could afford a book.
