Follow up from today's class

Hi all,

Great to see you in class today! A few reminders/follow-ups:

  1. Break activity sign-up: I created a sign-up sheet to share something during a class break during the semester on Moodle-->Class Activities. This isn't a requirement -- just something fun. If you have something fun you'd like to share, please sign up! Can be as simple as a song or as complex as a baked good.
  2. To-dos after class:
    • Video about The Discovery Center: Please view the video that Tiffany posted about The Discovery Center, where we will do our Action Project this semester, on Moodle-->Praxis Information-->Community Partner Information.
    • Videos about EJ: You can watch the video about the history of the EJ movement and footage from the 1991 EJ summit here
    • Download Zotero and load in the readings we have done so far: Instructions are here. Then please use it for your research proposal and throughout the semester to help you cite well and store readings.
  3. Today's readings: We unfortunately ran out of time to discuss them! Mostly I want you to have those in your brains as background literature as we dive into later generations of EJ research as the semester proceeds. However, I do still want us to discuss them together, so we will start with this for about 10 minutes next week.
  4. Next week's readings: Are on Moodle under Readings. Be sure to read the Peet and Hartwick chapter before the Lawson one, as the latter critiques the perspectives introduced in the former.

See you next week!
