Hi Hunter. This essay was really well connected with the idea of choice between practicality and principle. I really liked your example using Doug. There was a decision between emotional attachment and practical decision for both dogs. It really showed how making the right decision can some times mean putting aside personal emotions and feelings for the best for everyone.
