Unit 1 Exam Study Guide

To do well on this exam you need to review the following: 

1)      Unit vocabulary, particularly vocabulary having to do with family

2)      Also, with rigor, review adjectives and adverbs and how to form comparatives. 

3)      Review formation of imperatives. Pay close attention to aspect. Помогай! is used to denote helping multiple times, whereas помоги means that someone needs immediate help or help on one particular instance. 

4)      Review dative. It is used when you talk about your age (мне двадцать лет), when you talk about regular actions performed in the mornings, or on Tuesdays (по утрам, по вечерам, по понедельникам,по вторникам, по субботам), and with certain verbs, such as звонить/позвонить, дарить/подарить, помогать/помочь, etc.
