Unit 4 Exam Study Guide

To do well on this exam please review the following:

1.       Where certain places are in relation to other places (on the left, behind, not far from etc.)

2.       Verbs of motion in the past:

-           Пришел/приехал/прилетел/приплыл/прибежал – perf. verbs are used to denote that the person who arrived is still there, the person has not left.

-           Приходил/приезжал/прилетал/приплывал/прибегал – imperf. verbs are used to denote that the person came, but is no longer there.

3.       Prefixed verbs of motion

4.       The difference between ехал двадцать минут (ACC with no preposition is used to express duration with imperfective verbs) and доехал за двадцать минут (за+ACC is used with perfective verbs to express duration)
