Unit 9 Exam Study Guide

To best prepare for this exam, you should:

1.       Review vocabulary for the unit: you will have an activity where you need to find a word that does not fit the list. For example, in the following list: chair, living room, bathroom, sitting room, chair is the word that does not match the rest of the words. “Chair” does not fit the category of “rooms.” 

2.       Review short form participles, past passive long form participles. Review how you can transform sentences with long-form participles (построенный) into sentences with short form participles (который был построен) or impersonal sentences (который построили).

The participles that you need to memorize are as follows:

Купить (to buy) – купленный

Продать (to sell) – проданный- (был, будет) продан

Основать (to found) – основанный – (был, будет) основан

Поставить (to establish, to erect) – поставленный - (был, будет) поставлен

Открыть (to open) – открытый - (был, будет) открыт

Закрыть (to close) – закрытый - (был, будет) закрыт

Построить (to build)  – простроенный - (был, будет) построен

Написать (to write)  – написанный - (был, будет) написан

Собрать (to collect, to gather) – собранный - (был, будет) собран

Создать (to create)  – созданный - (был, будет) создан

3.       Review Весь, вся, всё, все (for animate and inanimate nouns)

4.       Review verbs of position, both intransitive and transitive, both imperfective and perfective.

Intransitive imperfective: стоять, сидеть, лежать, висеть

Intransitive perfective:  постоять, посидеть, полежать, повисеть

Transitive imperfective: ставить, сажать, класть, вешать

Transitive perfective: поставить, посадить, положить, повесить  

 

You need to know: present/past conjugation, imperative, “let’s” forms.
