YouTube eukaryotic transcription lectures: The first video is a 31 minute lecture by Bob Tjian introducing eukaryotic transcription - it provides a simple supplement to the lectures this week. There's not a tremendous amount of detail in this lecture, but there are some nice extensions from the material I'll go over in class. For example, he talks about how the first transcription factors were identified/isolated. You may find the second (41 minute) lecture more interesting - it gets into a little more detail on tissue-specific transcription is achieved, and again, he gives some specific examples.
