My name is Rebecca Zaletofsky and I was born and raised in New York City. Growing up in the city that never sleeps, I am no stranger to the hustle and bustle. I love how vibrant, loud, and busy it is. I would describe New York City as a melting pot. It is a place full of people from different backgrounds, cultures, ideas, beliefs and lifestyles, which is something I find interesting. This is why I am looking forward to taking Cities 185 this semester. I am very fond of learning about where people are from and how they grew up in their respective hometowns. It will be fascinating to discover the different perspectives from students who are not from New York City.

One of my goals in college, besides getting good grades, of course, is getting involved. In my pastime, I dance. I am a hip hop dancer, and I have been dancing since I was three years old. Dance is a passion that I love to share with others. To teach and make routines that I choreographed is what I most enjoy. I know dance not only makes people happy, but it brings people together. Hopefully I will have the opportunity to join one or two dance clubs this semester, and maybe teach a few dances of my own.
