I'm Helen, and I'm from Houston, Texas. I have lived there since I was 3 or 4 years old in the neighborhoods of Braeswood, Downtown Houston, and Old Braeswood (near the Texas Medical Center). I attended high school in New Hampshire, and I believe it's given me perspective on the city of Houston and the value in its cultures.
I love the city and appreciate the cultures that make the city what it is through food, events, museums, businesses, and everyday interactions, but I wish the different geographical parts of the city were more integrated with one another. The socio-political divide in Houston is very apparent when you look at racial, economic, and political demographics.
