I felt this program to be so enriching and something that is definitely not talked about with new parents enough. You hear people so often using "baby talk" and it was interesting to learn that can truly have negative effects on children's development. I do wonder if there is a way to streamline the importance of this program for new parents. It should be something OBGYN's and pediatricians advocate for. Especially now in the age of technology when it is so easy and sometimes needed to allow your child to watch screen time. I thought it was interesting to read that the speech counselor showed a low-income mother a video of an affluent mother in the organics aisle of a grocery store talking about all she is buying to her baby. I believe that could have been developed better to be more relatable to the client.
