That is a very interesting idea that I hadn't thought much about before. I’m not entirely sure what the intended demographic was originally when the gym was built. However, the gym seems to have really capitalized on this audience - they offer “company climbing packages” that many nearby (usually tech-based) companies purchase for groups of their workers. The nearby businesses are actually primarily large chains that don't seem to have much relevance to the tech industry itself - for instance Home Depot and Lowes. I think that the presence of these types of stores nearby is mostly a factor of the large lots of land available, and the ample parking space, rather than the types of workers.
