Hi! my name is Jay Dahlke (he/him/his). I think right now I understand more about clinical work with adults. I know I can learn more about children, adolescents, and working with people in those populations.
My first year placement was with Center for Advocacy for Rights and Interests of Elders in Philadelphia. I was a Long-Term Care Ombudsman, so I visited nursing homes and personal care homes in Philadelphia and helped elders or family members with issues. My second year will be with Family Service of Chester County. At Family Service, I'll probably have opportunities to work with people of all ages.
I'm looking forward to helping people in a clinical setting, individually or as members of families receiving care. My family members and I have been helped over the years by skilled, caring people. I'm appreciating growing and learning as I get training and take steps in changing my career path away from lawyering.
