Hello my name is Isabella or Izzy (she/her), I am really looking forward to taking this course because I hope to work with youth in the future. With that this course seems like it will really help to cover many parts of working with youth in clinical social work and I really want to have that knowledge to best support the work I do in the future.
In terms of areas of interest that is something I am still exploring as I have worked with children and adolescents in the past but that was in positions like a camp counselor, classroom aide and such. But that is also another reason I am excited for this course as I feel like it will help in finding areas of interest.
So stated above was also some of my background in terms of my work with youth. As for my placement last year I was at Surrey Services which is an organization that serves community members 60 and older at the centers and in the surrounding areas. This coming year I will be at Benchmark which is a school that is tailored for students who learn differently. Which is something I am very excited to be apart of as a student with dyslexia so I am really looking forward to being a support and working at the school.
