“Still” by Anisa Ibrahim is a digital narrative which uses audiovisual techniques to address islamophobia in America following 9/11.

On the surface, the main characters are: Anisa's mom, aunt, uncle, Zack, the Mayor, and the nurses and security guards at the hospital. The story follows Anisa and her family mourning the tragic loss of her cousin, Zack. Things take a turn when they are confronted by security guards in the hospital who refused them access to view Zack’s body, solely based on their physical appearance as Muslims. However, thanks to Anisa’s Uncle, this conflict gets resolved when he contacts the Mayor.

Below the surface, I believe this story is intended for the general American public. This story did a great job in executing the main goal which was to challenge discriminatory beliefs of Muslims. I personally was moved, especially at the end when she presumably shows us a picture of Zack. This story definitely appealed to my logic, ethos, and pathos.
