  1. I think that work and especially productivity have been the greatest contributors to surveillance studies. Especially in our modern capitalist society, when work and productivity are prioritized above the worker, businesses and companies do a lot to ensure that employees are cranking out as much work as possible. This is especially true with keyboard and screen watching technology, and the fact that nearly every workplace has a supervisor watching over you. Although this has not been entirely overlooked, I believe that surveillance in schools (especially for younger children) is particularly interesting and is already being applied.
  2. I thought that the tests were pretty interesting. I especially enjoyed the Lyon Surveillance Studies overview was interesting. I liked that he listed many specific real-life examples, it made me connect the dots a bit on how all of this affects me and others in society today.
