I took Chinese on and off for a few years throughout my childhood, starting when I was very young and then I took a few classes in high school as well. I have never studied abroad, but I grew up in Hong Kong. I had taken a few trips around China (Shanghai and Beijing) for school travels, but never anything academically based.
My course goals for this semester is to improve my tone knowledge and rebuild my foundations in Chinese. Since I was very young when I first learned pronunciation and such, I am looking to improve a lot in that aspect through speaking as much as possible in class or on my own. In addition, I want to develop my writing skills through repeated practice and dictation.
