Question: How often is it that the assumption that something was inferior on the principle of religion and culture affected people’s viewpoints? What are the ways that we can recognize our own biases in this?
Comment: I found it really interesting how there weren’t any technical reasons as to why the scroll was used, and instead it was all for societal and religious reasons. I’m well aware of the political power of the Catholic Church, but I still find it really interesting the absolute amount of control they had. For a long time, I thought scrolls were weaker than paper and complete trash. To learn otherwise was very interesting.
