Question: Was the effect of less accessible book materials a cultural choice to make literacy more elite or was it a byproduct of the pagan vs Christian meanings assigned to forms of literature?
Comment: The idea that scrolls stayed around as long as they did was something I never thought would provide such insight to Ancient Rome’s culture.
