Question: How did the distinction between academic knowledge and divination/ritualistic knowledge develop?

Comment: The primary focus of a library seems to shift quite frequenty throughout history. I think calling all of the iterations "libraries" both helps to show that they were focused around collecting knowledge, and damages understanding of the true function of some earlier types of libraries.

Quote: "The flexibility of the compilation, the ability to create bespoke texts from segments of other works, was one of the key features distinguishing the manuscript book world from the age of print," (Pettegree and Weduwen, 26)
