Good afternoon,

My name is Alane Degli Esposti, and I use she, hers pronouns. I am most fortunate to be a full-time, first year student at the GSSWSR. After working in communications and business for many years, I am a career-changer! I expect that the experience and learning ahead will help shape my area of clinical interest. Currently, I have an interest in all aspects of wellness and I completed a certification in mindfulness meditation.

Hope to meet you all in person sometime soon!

All the best,

Alane

Hello from one "career-changer" to another! Did you swap from a specific industry? How are you finding the transition?

Hi Alane! Also a career changer here - I echo MC's question regarding how you're finding the transition so far.

Hi Alane and welcome to social work! You're right, you'll have time to explore your interests - not only as you continue in the program but throughout your social work career. One of the many joys of social work education and training is that is prepares you for work in a variety of practice settings.

Hi Alane,
I am also a "career-changer" and it is exciting to hear from fellow students (MC and Sarah as well) who are embarking on a new direction. I'm looking forward to meeting you all in class!
