Hello All!

Jumping in late here because I've been doing my internship orientation this week.

I've spent the last 8 years in Philadelphia creating and performing in the experimental dance and theater scene. My work included research on identity and identity in performance and this practice lead me to an interest in social work.

I am now a career changer in the GSSWSR. I will interning at Friend's Hospital where I will be working with patients on a general adult unit. I also try to engage daily with my movement or art practice.

I am excited to see how my skills as a dancer, performer and artist can merge with skills I grow as a social worker. In the future, perhaps I will create therapeutic practice where these worlds combine, or perhaps I will find myself doing something completely new and surprising.

Hi Chelsea! Thanks for sharing your introduction. One of the things I appreciate most about the GSSWSR is the interest of quite a few faculty and students in incorporating the arts, in various forms, into their SW practice (and vice versa?).
