I am very excited for this placement! I'm still unsure where and when I am attending, but hope that will be determined in the coming week. I have been more nervous about the scheduling than attending. Still, I am also nervous about making sure that my presence in the classroom is supportive to the students and teachers. I have done many previous placements with varying degrees of involvement and enjoyed the experiences most when teachers had specific tasks for me rather than asking me to sit and observe. However, I am also worried that my involvement might in some way interfere with the teacher's goals or established norms, since I am not trained in multilingual learning. For example, I wouldn't want to help a child with a task if the goal had been for them to be challenged by it independently. I hope to have clear and specific communication with the teacher I am partnered with before I start, as well as feedback through the semester.
