I am especially looking forward to hopefully being able to combine this placement with the one for my EDUC 301 course and begin to prepare for student teaching in the spring. I have not yet had a year-long education placement, so it will be interesting to experience how that extended timeline impacts my perspective on the students and vice versa. My last Education placement through Swarthmore was a bit different in that we all visited the same school and did so through small groups so we could work together on a research project and present our findings to the classroom teachers. It was nice to be able to discuss observations with group mates who were in the same class; we often noticed similar things but interpreted or analyzed them in different ways. I'm not too sure whether anyone else in the course will be at my placement; either way, I'm confident we'll still be able to discuss similar types of observations that we are all noticing even in different school contexts. I am only worried about actually learning where I will be placed, but once I do I feel like I'll be able to settle into a routine, since by now I have done many Education placements.
