These texts will introduce a number of names of thinkers we will explore later in the semester, but for now, please focus on what surveillance means and what shapes it and surveillance studies as a field.
1) Based on the overviews and history of surveillance theories, which domains of life have been the greatest contributors to "surveillance studies" and surveillance as a contemporary practice? Are there any areas that you feel are overlooked or other domains of life or studies where surveillance is particularly applicable?
